If you’re age 70½ or older, a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) allows you to give directly from your IRA to Edmond Mobile Meals. An eligible gift is excluded from federal taxable income and can count toward your required minimum distribution,even if you don’t itemize deductions.

Your generosity helps provide nutritious meals, friendly visits, and wellness checks for homebound neighbors in Edmond.

It's National Cat Day and we would be remiss if we didn't give a shout out to Mobile Meals Stanila (aka Mobi)....this kitten was discovered in the flower beds outside the Edmond Senior Center when we were operating there. Our amazing jumped into action with her skills from her animal rescue days and saved the little dude's life. He now resides happily with the Stanilas as the KING of their castle! Happy Cat Day, Mobi!

PS - you might also notice he's the helpful AI chatbot on our new website!

We'd like to say a BIG thank you to members of the Edmond Women's Club who volunteered with us on Monday! We had a great team in the kitchen helping prepare over 400 meals for the day, and another group of awesome volunteers who delivered meals. We are so grateful for the support of this incredible organization!

No one should reach their later years and wonder whether they can afford to eat.

This article reports that more than 10 million older adults are living in poverty—a sobering reminder of how fragile financial security can become as we age.

We see first-hand how this national concern reaches our own community. For homebound seniors living on fixed incomes, groceries, medications, utilities and housing all compete for the same limited dollars. There is often little room left for an unexpected expense.

Every meal we deliver helps ease that burden. It also brings a familiar face, a wellness check and reassurance that someone cares. We remain committed to providing meals regardless of a client’s ability to contribute, without a waiting list.

But meeting the growing need takes sustained community support and public policies that protect older adults’ ability to afford basic necessities. Thanks to the incredible generosity of the community and , we are able to provide gas cards to our meal delivery volunteers to help keep them on the road! We've already heard from several people that this gift ensures they can continue to volunteer with us!
