Vision: Everyone in Preble County has a safe and affordable place to call HOME. From the very first rental in 2003 to now 21+ years later, H.I.T.

Foundation owns and manages 54 residential rental units throughout Preble County that are made available to qualified families and individuals at rates below Fair Market Value (FMV). Our well-maintained rentals set the standard for a safe, quality, and affordable place to call HOME. Applications for housing can be obtained in office, on the website, or by emailing [email protected]

H.I.T Foundation began offering homeless prevention and rapid rehousing services to local residents in March 2015. By October, the Homeless Services Program expanded, allowing Home Is The Foundation to open Preble County's Emergency Homeless Shelter. The shelter serves as a temporary and safe place to stay and receive support for those individuals and families experiencing a housing crisis in Preble County. We believe older adults should be able to stay safely in their own homes as long as possible. Since 2015, utilizing donations, grants, local contractors and volunteers, the Senior Home Repair Program has helped hundreds of eligible households in Preble County with yard clean-ups, electrical, plumbing, roof repairs/replacements as well as accessibility modifications including ramps, handrails, grab bars, easy open door knobs and ADA bathroom modifications. To apply, you must be 60+ years of age, own your home, and reside in Preble County. Income guidelines also apply, and can be found on the application. Applications are available at hitfoundation.org, in the main office, or by emailing [email protected]

As we reflect on last week’s Community Resource Fair, we are feeling incredibly grateful for the amazing turnout, generosity, and support from our community. We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our amazing partners, vendors, and volunteers who helped make this event such a success. Your support, generosity, and willingness to come together truly make a difference! ❤️

✨ 299 people attended our resource fair
💈 47 free haircuts were provided by Kaylee Hutzell, Shannon Azzalina, Lauren Montgomery & Lisa Chandler
🍽️ 185 free meals were served thanks to Preble County Catholics of the St. Francis of Assisi Family of Parishes
🤝 Countless connections were made to valuable community resources and services

Behind every number is a person, a family, or someone who found a little extra support when they needed it. That is what this event is all about!

We are so grateful to everyone who showed up, gave their time, donated resources, and helped connect our community with the services they need. It takes a village, and we are proud to be part of one that cares so deeply for its neighbors. ❤️

The Preble County homeless shelter is in need of food! We have five dinners needed for the remainder of this month - you can claim these opportunities to give back directly through our Meal Train link (www.mealtrain.com/trains/54851k)💗🍴

Additionally, clients are needing quick and easy lunch items such as sandwich bread, lunch meat, fruit, chips, and cheese for the remainder of the month. Lunch ingredients can be dropped off at our office (111 W. Somers St. Eaton) or shelter (2009 St. Rt. 127 N. Eaton) without needing to be claimed on Meal Train. 🍞🍎
