I’m sad.Beneath my smile there is a frown,a distaste for the state of our people.A distaste for the continual treatment of my people , a distaste for the assumptions that we are less than. A distaste for the powers that be that bare my skin tone but speak not and do nothing. It’s Sunday , the pews are filled with selfishness, My God, My church , My Pastor,My faith because none of that leaves the doors and effect change within most of the communities your magnificent structures reside in.We clap when the outsiders come in and drop a few millions and sprinkle it so far and wide that the effect is hardly even noticeable and we demand not of the institutions that are so densely packed within our communities and take millions only to give nothing back.Im upset that bike lanes are a priority while crime is left to escalate at an alarming rate. I don’t have enough money to move with what I am doing fast enough, but by this time next year I am praying that the new spaces we open to the community will provide something new ,something different something needed within the “Real Detroit” Neighborhoods.
I know my son was mad ass hell but it’s gotta be right. These walls were supposed to be floated to “light sand, paint ready” My son paints , my drywall guy was supposed to sand , so what did my guy do, Paint ! And what did I have to do after the fact Correct. Another $40 gallon of paint but guess what , it’s right.Lesson learned, #takenooneswordsuntilyoufeelityourself
