Today, we are especially thankful for two of our own, Evan Piccione and Keira Phillips. Evan serves as a firefighter, and Kiara serves through her work at the fire department. We are so grateful for both of them and the heart for service they represent.
There is something incredibly humbling about people who make the choice to serve others. Whether it is our first responders who answer the call when someone needs help or those who volunteer their time simply because they see a need, that kind of service deserves our deepest gratitude.
Philippians 2:3-4 reminds us to look beyond ourselves and consider the needs of others. We see that lived out every day through firefighters, law enforcement, EMS, dispatchers, and so many volunteers who give their time, energy, and talents to care for the people around them.
To Evan, Keira, and every person who chooses to serve, thank you. Thank you for showing up, for giving of yourselves, and for choosing to put others before you. Our communities are stronger because of people like you, and we are abundantly grateful.
To every person who chooses to serve others, whether through your profession, volunteering your time, stepping in when there is a need, or simply being willing to help, we are so grateful for you.
We pray for your protection, your families, and continued strength as you pour into the people around you. Above all, we thank God for filling our communities with people who are willing to put others before themselves, give without expecting anything in return, and simply say, βIβll help.β
