There's a restaurant in north Alabama where you can eat beneath an enormous rock shelter.

Hidden in the countryside near Tuscumbia, the Rattlesnake Saloon is one of the state's most unusual dining destinations.

The restaurant sits beneath a towering natural sandstone overhang, surrounded by trees and rugged terrain.

Visitors park above the restaurant and can ride down a steep wooded road in a pickup truck shuttle.

The saloon opened in 2009 and quickly became known for its extraordinary setting.

Its unusual name came from rattlesnakes discovered nearby during construction.

Today, the restaurant attracts travelers looking for something different from the usual roadside stop.

With its massive rock ceiling and secluded location, it feels like a place hidden in another world.
