Homes to the Max I’m Max! This is my place to share the weird, wonderful, and fabulous homes I find on Zillow

Today I toured this GORGEOUS mid-century time-capsule house in the Paradise Palms of Las Vegas, currently listed at $490,000.

There are SO many features I love here — multiple bars; a speakeasy/recording room; colorful bathrooms with colorful, vintage fixtures — but the absolute highlight (shocker!) is the kitchen, which has a complete suite of 1960s avocado-colored appliances. What’s your favorite part?

Thank you to listing agent for letting me feature her listing!

Driving home from a house tour in Michigan, I passed this gorgeous, old, neon ghost sign and HAD to pull over. It advertises the long-defunct 131 Drive-in theater, which ran from 1950-1984. After being abandoned for nearly two decades, it was repurposed into a salvage yard and auto-body shop which still occupies the site. In addition to the neon sign, there’s also the massive, slightly-dilapidated, screen — which (in addition to a pretty sizeable hole down the middle caused by a recent lightning strike) still bears all the old signage from the drive-in days.

In housekeeping news, i am officially BACK from my extended hiatus! So please bear with me as I get caught up on all my unread dms!

Today I toured the Eppstein House in Galesburg, Michigan, a Frank Lloyd Wright–designed Usonian home currently on the market for $2.1 million. While I’ve toured multiple usonian homes for this channel, this is actually my first Frank Lloyd Wright house! And what a treat — thank you so much to listing agent Dylan Tent | Realtor | for the tour.

In case you missed it, I spent three nights at the fabulous Cove Haven Resort, in Lakeville, PA — a retro, deliciously kitschy, honeymoon resort opened in 1958. (Cove Pocono Resorts )

I spent three days staying at Cove Haven, one of America’s last surviving honeymoon resorts, with my boyfriend and our friend Isaac.

This Poconos time capsule has been on my bucket list for YEARS, and I finally got to experience its heart-shaped tubs, gloriously kitschy interiors, and seven-foot ch*****ne glass hot tub for myself.

Thank you to Cove Pocono Resorts for hosting us! 🥂

Today, I drove to Galesburg, Michigan to tour this GORGEOUS Frank Lloyd Wright designed, “Usonian” time-capsule house. It was built in 1953 for Samuel and Dorothy Epstein, who — in accordance with Usonian principles — built the house themselves, brick by concrete brick. VERY little has changed since then, and the house boasts features like multiple terraces; Wright-designed furniture; built-ins; vintage appliances; and more. My full tour is coming soon, but if you join my subscription tier, you can watch a sneak preview now.

After a $30,000 price cut, this spectacular, mid-century-modern time-capsule house — designed by iconic architext Robert Paul Schweiker — is BACK on the market. Beyond stunning views of the Illinois River, the house boasts features like multiple fireplaces;built-ins; a 2-story kitchen with original cabinetry; a walk-out basement with a wet-bar cleverly hidden behind a shoji screen; and so much more. This Scarsdale, New York home — currently on the market at $2,595,000 — has been almost completely untouched since the 1970s, with original features including funky # wallpaper; a gorgeous kitchen with vintage appliances and colorful laminate counters; the actual bedroom of my dreams; and a drool-inducing collection of mid-century furniture. What’s your favorite part?

You’ll NEVER guess what’s inside the basement of this mid-century time-capsule house in Monroe Wisconsin… Unless, that is, you saw it the first time I covered it a few months ago, in which case — no cheating! After a few months on the market, this home has SOLD. As is always the case with time/capsule properties like this one, I’m definitely a little nervous. Here’s hoping the new owners preserve all the fabulous 1960s features!

Today’s listing — located in Hiram, Georgia and on the market for $1,200,000 — taught me a valuable lesson: never let questionable decor scare you away from a listing, because if I had, I would’ve missed out on three of the most fabulous bathrooms I’ve ever posted on this page.

There’s a pastel pink en-suite with an honest-to-god heart-shaped tub, a downstairs bathroom with mauve fixtures, and the pièce de résistance: a wildly floral, Laura-Ashley-on-acid primary bath complete with a fireplace, frosted glass, mirrored walls, and a massive teal cultured-marble tub.

Are they tasteful? Debatable. Do I think these bathrooms alone deserve some kind of historic designation? Absolutely.
