There's a lot going on in DeLand this month, so I put the dates in one place. If you're looking for things to do in DeLand in November, save this one.

Stetson Mansion's Christmas tours run November 1 through January 17. Space is limited, so reserve online.

Saturday, November 7 is the DeLand Original Music Festival, 1 PM to 1 AM, with over 100 acts on 18 stages downtown. Kids 12 and under get in free.

Saturday, November 14 is the Veterans Day Parade on Woodland Boulevard. The opening ceremony starts at 9:30 AM and the parade steps off at 10.

Manatee season at Blue Spring State Park in Orange City starts November 15. You'll need a day-use reservation to get in.

And on November 21 and 22, the Fall Festival of the Arts brings over 150 artists to Woodland Boulevard, free to walk through.

Comparing Volusia County real estate with Orlando? Home insurance is lower here on average, too.

As of March 31, 2026, the average homeowners premium with wind was $2,808 in Volusia County and $3,610 in Orange County. Those are averages, so get a real quote on the home you want before you make an offer.

In September 2026, the median condo or townhouse in the Volusia and Flagler area sold for $279,000, down 7% from a year before. Across Florida it was $293,500, down 1.8%.

Townhouse vs single-family home? At Pelham Square in DeLand, you can compare both in one new community.

When I checked on October 6, move-in ready townhomes started at $285,490 and single-family homes at $337,990.

One tip: homes that are already built usually have the most room to talk. Builders like to keep their base price, but there can be help with closing costs, a better rate through their lender, or upgrades. Call or text me at 386-287-2221, and I'll find out what Starlight is offering right now.

Here's a little DeLand history most people drive right past. In 1926, someone drew a whole town called Pelham Square beside the train depot, and almost a hundred years later it's finally being built.

And this is only the beginning. The county's plan allows up to 648 homes there, including apartments, with shops planned along State Road 44.

Wondering what about $500K gets you in Florida these days? At Heebner Acres in DeLand, new homes on a full acre start in the low $500s (Gallery Homes' price sheet, March 2026).
