🏡 That property tax bill might deserve more than a quick glance.

October is when Texas property tax bills begin arriving, and whether you’ve owned your DFW home for two years or twenty, it’s a good time to review the details.

Check your property’s exemptions, confirm the information is accurate, and understand how your taxes are being paid, especially if they’re included in your mortgage escrow.

Most Texas property taxes must be paid by January 31 to avoid delinquency. This year that date falls on a Sunday, so payments are timely through Monday, February 1, 2027. Exceptions apply, so check the deadline on your bill.
