🍂 Happy First Day of Fall! 🍁

The autumnal equinox arrives today, September 22, at 8:05 p.m. EDT, officially beginning astronomical fall in the Northern Hemisphere.

At that precise moment, the Sun crosses the celestial equator heading south. The word “equinox” comes from Latin words meaning “equal night,” although daylight and darkness are not exactly equal today because of atmospheric refraction and the way sunrise and sunset are measured.

From here, the days will continue growing shorter and the nights longer until the winter solstice in December.

What are you looking forward to most this fall?

Great news! The My Stop app is once again operational and ready to help Newton County Schools families stay informed about their student's bus route.

With My Stop, parents can:
• View the real-time location of their child's school bus
• See whether the bus is on the way or has already passed their assigned stop
• Receive updated estimated arrival times, automatically refreshed every five seconds to reflect traffic or other delays

Please note: As part of our system restoration, the My Stop link has changed.

Access My Stop here:
https://newtoncountydgaweb.tdr.tylerhosting.cloud/newtoncounty/onscreen/mystop/loginmobile.aspx

Login Information:
• Username: Your child's student ID number
• Password: Your child's date of birth in MMDDYYYY format (Example: January 15, 2018 = 01152018)

We encourage all families with students who ride the bus to log in before the first day of school so you're ready to track your child's bus route with confidence.
