🇺🇸 VETERAN TO VETERAN — WHY IS ASSUMING A VA LOAN SO DIFFICULT?

As a Real Estate Broker, this really frustrates me!

I’m representing a veteran buying a home from another veteran. The seller has an incredible 2% VA interest rate, and my buyer wants to assume that loan!

My buyer is selling his current home and plans to use the proceeds to cover the difference. Sounds like a win-win, right?

NOT SO FAST!

The mortgage company tells us it could take 60 to 90 days, possibly longer, to close!

Neither veteran wants to wait that long!

I understand there’s paperwork involved, but why make it so difficult for our veterans to take advantage of a benefit they’ve earned?

It almost makes you wonder if the system is discouraging buyers from assuming those low interest rates.

🇺🇸 Our veterans deserve better!
