Well, I’ve said for years that I had no interest in becoming a real estate broker. I was perfectly content being an agent, buying and selling properties, renovating houses, and building rental portfolios.
But circumstances change, opportunities present themselves, and sometimes you have to be willing to adapt.
So here we are. After more than a decade in real estate, I’m officially a licensed Real Estate Broker! The paperwork has also been approved for me to step into the role of Broker in Charge at Modern Heart Realty.
With that comes some exciting plans for the future of MHR.
I’ve never had the desire to build a traditional style brokerage. What I do want is to build a brokerage where agents have the opportunity to grow, not just in real estate sales, but personally and financially as well.
We’re currently looking to add a few agents who share that mindset.
A little about what we’re building at Modern Heart Realty:
🏡 Boutique Brokerage: We’re limiting each office to 20 full-time agents. I don’t want agents to feel like they’re just another number on a roster. I want to know our agents, understand their goals, and be involved in helping them achieve those goals.
💰 Low Brokerage Dues: Just $125 per month, deducted from closings. We want to keep the cost of doing business reasonable.
🔑 24/7 Coworking Access: Our agents have access to Modern Cowork locations, providing professional spaces to work, meet clients, and conduct business.
📈 Real-World Mentorship: Over the years, I’ve been fortunate enough to gain firsthand experience in traditional real estate, renovations, investment properties, rental portfolios, and creative financing. I want to share that knowledge with agents who have an interest in doing more with real estate than simply collecting commissions.
🎯 Quarterly Business Planning: Not just another brokerage meeting. We want to sit down with our agents, discuss where they are, where they want to be, and develop a plan to get there. That includes their business goals as well as their goals outside of real estate.
At the end of the day, I don’t measure success by how many agents we have hanging their licenses with us. I’d rather have a smaller group of agents who are genuinely working toward something and a brokerage that’s invested in helping them get there.
If you’re an agent who’s been considering a change, or you’re just curious about what we’re doing at Modern Heart Realty, feel free to reach out.
No pressure, no sales pitch, and every conversation will remain confidential.
I’m excited about this next chapter and what we’re building!
