From tearing down an old house… to watching our new home take shape in the hills of Glouster.

This journey has moved faster than we ever imagined, and it’s been incredible to watch every step come to life.

I just shared the latest update in our Behind the Build series if you want to follow along with us 👇

Welp… it’s been a minute—okay, a whole month—since our last build update! As the busiest season of the year hits the Holbert household, the house build just keeps rolling right along.
And honestly… we can finally see the finish line—and it’s coming faster than we ever expected! 🙌
Right now, the house is fully framed, plumbed, and has electric, insulation, drywall, and primer on all the walls. All windows and doors are in, too! My amazing parents have already added a few beautiful surprises (which made it feel even more real 🥹).
Outside, the deck is framed, the cedar posts are up, and siding has officially started!
Next up: interior paint, trim, interior doors, finishing the siding, and gutters. We’re getting so close!!

Two days.

That’s how long it took to frame both levels of our house in Glouster. Watching the craftsmanship of the crew was incredible.

The newest Behind the Build update is live if you want to follow along.

In my first Behind the Build post, I shared why our family decided to move to Glouster and begin building our modern farmhouse in the hills of Southeast Ohio. What started as a vision on paper is now becoming reality. And the last couple of weeks have been one of the most exciting stages yet. …

It’s here! The first edition of Behind the Build is live.

In this post, I’m sharing the beginning of our family’s journey as we prepare for our move to Glouster and start building our new home.

Follow along as we tear down the old house, design our home, and document the entire process from start to finish.

Something exciting is coming soon…

Over the next several months I’ll be sharing a new series called “Behind the Build” as our family begins the journey of tearing down this home and building our new one in Glouster.

From demolition to design decisions to construction progress — I’ll be sharing the real story of what it takes to build a home from the ground up.

The first blog post will be coming soon. Stay tuned!

Big news from the Holbert family… we’re moving to Glouster!

Over the past year, our family has spent more and more time in the Glouster community through my husband’s work, and somewhere along the way it started to feel like home. The people, the hills, the small-town pride — we’ve truly fallen in love with this area.

If you know me, you know I love homes and community. I grew up around home building, later built a career helping families as an educator, and now have the privilege of helping people buy and sell homes as a Realtor. Being part of a community and helping others plant roots is something I’m really passionate about.

Now we’re taking that step ourselves — building our home and starting this next chapter right here in Glouster.

If you’re thinking about buying, selling, or moving to the area, I’d love to help you navigate the process and find the place that feels like home.

And if you already call Glouster home… we can’t wait to officially join you. ❤️
