Did you know the photos around Peng’s Place aren’t just décor, they’re real moments from adventures Tapenga and her mom and dad took together… and a few mom-and-dad trips when pups weren’t allowed. Im starting a little mini series sharing the stories behind each one, and the best part? Every place is local, so if something inspires you, it’s all within a day trip during your stay.
First up: the photo in the living room was taken at Madden Rock Trail. We backpacked in, camped overnight, and hiked out the next day. My favorite memory wasn’t just the hike, it was sitting on the beach that evening. That spot is only accessible by foot or boat, and we made a little fire, watched the water, and just were. No rush. No noise. Just comfort, joy, and total peace, exactly what we needed in that season of life.
Photos are funny like that. To most people, it’s just a picture of a campfire. To the people who were there, it’s a memory, a feeling, a whole moment in time.
