Some people become such an important part of the fabric of a company that it is difficult to imagine it without them.
For the past 11 years, Patricia “Pat” Creel was an integral part of our HomeTowne Realty family. As our Compliance Director, Pat was the person we could count on to make sure every i was dotted, every t was crossed, and no detail was overlooked. Her attention to detail and organization were unmatched, and she was a constant presence in our office, quietly making sure things ran smoothly day after day.
Pat loved a good routine, but she also loved being part of the lives and work of the people around her.
She was a tremendous supporter of our HTR agents and the causes that mattered to them. Whether she was stopping by an open house, supporting an event, or contributing to a donation drive, Pat was often one of the first people to step up and help. Her generosity was rarely loud, but it was consistent, thoughtful, and sincere.
She genuinely cared for others and was always willing to go above and beyond when someone needed her. She had a quiet spirit, a kind heart, and always seemed to have a kind word ready to share.
Those who knew Pat also knew the things that made her uniquely Pat. She loved the Pittsburgh Steelers and could happily talk football with anyone who shared her passion. She loved books, Metallica, heavy metal and rock music, and even shared a concert or two with members of our HTR family.
Pat also loved our downtown Clayton neighbors and spent many years enjoying her daily walks through town. She was part of the rhythm of our office and our community in ways that may have seemed small in the moment, but now feel incredibly meaningful.
There are people whose work makes a difference, and there are people whose presence makes a difference. Pat did both.
Our hearts are with her husband John, her daughter Katie & son-in-law Curtis, her granddaughter Kinley, and all of Pat’s family and friends as they grieve this tremendous loss.
We are incredibly grateful for the 11 years we were fortunate enough to call Pat one of our own. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever a part of the HomeTowne Realty family.

For those who would like to celebrate Pat’s life with her family, a memorial service will be held Thursday, October 22 at 2:00 p.m. at Christ the King Church in Clayton.
