The owners were inspired by the original Westbury House on Long Island, where Hollywood filmed *North by Northwest*, *Hitch* and *American Gangster*. So they built their own in Colts Neck.

In May 2017 I showed these two a house. They didn't buy it.

Nine years later they got their keys.

We stayed in touch the whole time. No pressure, no drip campaign, just a check-in every so often. Then an investor bought the multi-family they were renting in and raised the rent, and they knew who to call.

331 Portia St, South Amboy. $575,000. Three bed, three bath, high ceilings, an oversized yard, and a fiberglass pool they weren't even looking for.

I negotiated $30,000 in credits off the inspection. First house either of them has ever owned.

Here's the part worth hearing. Nine years is not unusual. Most people who buy a house looked at one years earlier and walked away from it, and the reason they eventually call somebody is that the somebody was still there.
