Under new expansion about 60% of chicago properties will allow additional dwelling unots like coach houses & Garden Apartments, to be built without requiring a zoning change.
The City Council voted last year to expand and make permanent a pilot program allowing the construction of additional dwelling units, or ADUs, citywide. Not all residential areas are included, and additional restrictions may apply.
