Closed Deal | 6117-6135 S. Ashland Avenue, Chicago

Matanky Realty Group is pleased to announce the sale of an 8,820 SF multi-tenant retail center on 0.25 acres along South Ashland Avenue. Broker Gregory Blade represented the seller in the transaction, which closed on September 24, 2026.

The buyer was already a tenant: I Have a Dream Daycare, which had been operating out of the center, purchased the entire property. The acquisition turns the daycare into an owner-user, securing a permanent home for its services and giving it control of the surrounding strip center.

Tenant-to-owner deals like this are a growing path for established local businesses. Instead of renewing a lease, operators can build equity in the real estate they already depend on, while sellers gain a buyer who knows the property and is committed to it.

A round of applause for David Cordova!

David recently completed a successful lease at 444 Skokie Boulevard in Wilmette, bringing Nexus Acupuncture to Chicago’s North Shore.

The 485 SF office will give Nexus convenient access to a busy retail corridor surrounded by popular shopping and dining destinations, while bringing its Korean medicine practice and clinical expertise to the community.

The deal officially closed on August 18, 2026, following quick negotiations between the tenant and ownership. The lease also fills the last available space at 444 Skokie Boulevard, marking a significant milestone for the property.
