Building in the community come with both challenges and opportunities worth talking about.

I had a great time joining LISC Chicago's Executive Director Meghan Harte and Community Investment Corporation's President & CEO Stacie Young on the latest episode of Built Different Chicago!

We discussed the realities of community-based development, from accessing capital to growing a business when the first projects are small. One message I hope listeners take away is that the size of a developer's projects today doesn't define what they're capable of building tomorrow. When local developers get access to capital and real opportunities, we can create housing, jobs, and investment that stay in our communities.

When developing homes, I believe it's important to think beyond how a space looks and consider how it will serve the people who live there.
