The wall comes down and the advice stops. Now you have a big space and you can’t say why it feels off.
Here’s why. A wall tells you where a room stops, for free. When it’s gone, you have to buy that definition back. Three ways to do it:
Rugs. A rug is a floor plan. Put the seating group on it and that’s a room again.
Lighting. One fixture over the table, lamps in the seating area. Recessed cans alone make any space feel like a waiting room.
Furniture backs. Float the sofa with its back to the kitchen. You just built the wall out of a couch.
The layout isn’t wrong. The instructions were just incomplete.
