Eight remodels in Black Creek — and we don't say that to count projects. We say it because we think it means something.

When families in one of Chattanooga's most sought-after communities keep calling the same builder, that's not a coincidence. It's a track record. These are people who had options, who know what quality looks like, and who picked up the phone and called us anyway.

It's a question we get more than almost any other.

Should we remodel — or should we just move?

And honestly, the answer is different for every family. It depends on how you feel about where you live, what the house actually needs, and whether the real numbers on both sides of the decision have been run all the way through.

What we've found, after building new homes and completing remodels across the Chattanooga area, is that a lot of families who think they need to move actually just need the right team to help them reimagine what they already have. And some families who are deep into a remodel plan are better served by a conversation about building new.

Good things are happening on remodel number 7 in Black Creek.

The outdoor addition is framed and going up fast. Inside, cabinets are on the floor and that coffered ceiling is already turning this space into something worth waiting for.

This family has been patient through the process. We're getting close to making it worth the wait.

Building in the mountains is different. And we mean that in the best possible way — and also in the most practical one. ⛰️

Communities like Jasper Highlands (where we’re framing up this house right now) and River Gorge Ranch are extraordinary places to build a home. The land is remarkable, the settings are unlike anything else in the Chattanooga area, and the finished homes — when they’re done right — feel like they belong to the landscape in a way that’s hard to put into words.

But mountain building asks more of a builder. The terrain, the soil, the grades, the ARB requirements, the septic considerations, the long lead materials that need to be ordered well ahead of when they’re needed — all of it requires experience that you can’t fake and can’t shortcut.

There’s something incredibly special about this community: when people fall in love with Black Creek, they don’t leave. They stay. They invest. They reimagine. And more often than not, they call us.

We get it more than most — our family has lived in Black Creek since 2001. We’ve watched this community grow, watched our neighbors put down roots, and watched homes evolve right along with the families inside them. It’s a rare thing, and we don’t take it lightly.

That custom masonry range hood you see being hand-troweled? It’s the kind of detail that stops people in their tracks once it’s finished. No two are exactly alike. It takes real skill and real patience, and our guys bring both.

The shower tile work, the floors, the millwork — this home is being put back together with the same care we gave it the first time around, and then some. A family who trusted us to build their home years ago trusted us again to reimagine it. That means everything to us.
