🏡📉 Home sales just hit their lowest level in over two decades. But for buyers? This could be an opportunity.
According to the National Association of REALTORS®, the Pending Home Sales Index dropped to 66.0 in September 2026, its lowest reading since tracking began in 2001.
So, what does this mean if you’re thinking about buying a home in Charleston? 👀
✨ More negotiating opportunities. Some sellers may be more willing to discuss pricing, closing costs, or repairs.
🔑 A chance to find the right deal. Slower market activity could give buyers more flexibility when making an offer.
💰 Potential refinancing opportunities. If mortgage rates decrease in the future, refinancing may be an option, although lower rates aren’t guaranteed.
The market is changing, and the right strategy can make all the difference.
You don’t always have to wait for the perfect market. Sometimes, you just need to recognize the opportunity in front of you. 🤍
