HomeAid National Capital Region HomeAid’s mission is to help people experiencing or at risk of homelessness build new lives through construction, community engagement, and education.

HomeAid National Capital Region's goal is to be a major resource for nonprofit organizations that serve individuals and families experiencing or at risk of experiencing homelessness. HomeAid helps people gain stability by connecting area builders who donate their labor, time, materials, and expertise to organizations that need assistance maintaining aging facilities or building new facilities. Our construction projects also serve nonprofits working with people who have experienced domestic violence; people with disabilities; those suffering from chronic physical or mental health issues; and homeless children and teens.

HomeAid National Capital Region’s Project Playhouse brings the building industry together to create meaningful spaces for children and families experiencing or at risk of experiencing homelessness.

We’re proud to partner with Christopher Companies, who built a beautiful playhouse for Fauquier Family Shelter , giving children a safe space to play, imagine, build friendships, and make lasting memories. Project Playhouse also offers comfort, a sense of normalcy, and the opportunity for children to simply be kids, even during uncertain times.

A huge thank you to Christopher Companies, Builders FirstSource, ConApp, Select Roofing, Virginia Cleaning and Punchout, and VCI for helping HomeAid build brighter futures for children and families in our community.

We are incredibly grateful to@tollbrothers for their continued partnership and for choosing HomeAid National Capital Region as the beneficiary of their annual Golf Tournament year after year. Their generosity and enthusiasm reflect a genuine commitment to strengthening our community and supporting our mission.

A successful tournament takes a team, and we extend our sincere thanks to every volunteer, golfer, and sponsor who helped make this event possible.

The unrestricted funds raised through this tournament allow HomeAid to invest in the construction and renovation of shelters, housing facilities, food pantries, and other essential spaces where local nonprofit organizations serve individuals and families experiencing or at risk of experiencing homelessness. With the support of partners like Toll Brothers and everyone who participated, we can continue creating safe, stable spaces that help people move toward a brighter future.

A huge thank you to K. Hovnanian Homes and the Trade Partner Council for hosting its annual golf tournament in support of HomeAid last week. Since 2019, this incredible event has raised more than $288,000 to advance HomeAid’s mission and help create safe, stable, and dignified spaces and programmatic facilities for people experiencing or at risk of experiencing homelessness.

And of course, behind every successful golf tournament is a dedicated team of volunteers who make it all possible. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who gave their time and energy to make this tournament a success, from the planning and preparation to the day of the tournament.

We are truly grateful for your continued partnership and commitment to HomeAid and the communities we serve.

HomeAid, Builder Captain Atlantic Builders, and a team of trade partners have entered into an exciting new partnership with Micah Ecumenical Ministries, based in Fredericksburg, Va., to build 50 of a planned 80 homes in the Jeremiah Community. The supportive housing units will be small, at 522 square feet, and will include one bedroom, efficiency-style kitchen, accessible bathroom, and common area. Front porches throughout the community will encourage community connection, as will facilities like a health care clinic, market, maker space, chapel, community center, and gardens to create varied public, social, and personal spaces catering to community healing needs— ranging from physical to spiritual.

Yesterday, we celebrated the completion of the prototype home for The Jeremiah Community at The Oberle Academy. Built in just 72 hours by Atlantic Builders, dedicated trade partners, and students from The Oberle Academy, this innovative project represents a meaningful step toward addressing homelessness in the Fredericksburg region.

A special thanks to U.S. Senator Tim Kaine who championed the allocation of $2.9 million in federal funds for this project.
