A 30-year mortgage does NOT mean you have to live in that home for 30 years. 🏡

When you sell, your remaining mortgage balance is generally paid off from the proceeds at closing.

The real question is: Have you owned the home long enough to build enough equity to make selling worthwhile?

Appreciation + the principal you’ve paid down can help build equity—but you also have to consider the costs you paid when buying and the costs of selling.

That’s why buying a home isn’t necessarily a 30-year commitment. It’s about understanding your numbers and having a plan.

Part 2 of Cimone’s homebuying story 🏡

Cimone shares how Sal Ortiz | Salifornia Funding made the lending process feel smooth by explaining each step and making the numbers easy to understand. And when she found out her offer was accepted? She called her family right away.

Her advice to anyone on the fence about buying: “Just do it.” You never know what’s possible until you try. Cimone could still be renting, but today she owns her home at 24. No landlord to pay—she’s the landlord now. 😂

Cimone bought her first home at 24, and we had to celebrate properly. 🎉

In Part 1, we surprised her with confetti and balloons, then talked about her buying journey and the moment she knew I had her back.

And of course, we had to discuss her Zillow list. She sent me a lot of homes, and some had me going, “No, no, no, no… wait, yes.” 😂

I’m proud of how Cimone stuck to the plan and made homeownership happen. More of our conversation in Part 2.
