Back in July, I had the honor of stepping into the role of Board Chair for Carroll County CASA.
Before I say anything else, I have to give a huge thank you to Katie Taliaferro Brown , who served as Board Chair before me. Katie did a fantastic job leading this organization and has poured a lot of time, energy and heart into CASA. I have some big shoes to fill, and I’m grateful she’s still right there alongside us as we continue moving the mission forward.
I haven’t really said much about taking on the role because, truthfully, the title isn’t the important part. The work is.
CASA advocates for children in foster care who are navigating circumstances that no child should have to navigate alone. Our advocates show up, build relationships, listen, and make sure these kids have a voice when some pretty big decisions are being made about their lives.
It’s work that matters, and I’m incredibly proud to serve alongside the staff, advocates, volunteers and board members who make it happen.

If you play Mahjong, grab some friends and come join us for a fun night supporting an incredible cause. Your $75 registration includes hors d’oeuvres, light beverages and three hours of Mahjong play. And don’t forget the table decorating contest!
