Safety and Maintenance Checks to remember:

Replace batteries in smoke detectors, carbon monoxide alarms, weather radios, flashlights, and other battery-powered devices.

Inspect and clean your chimney if you use it; the Chimney Safety Institute recommends annual inspection and cleaning.

Check tire pressure — colder air in winter can lower it, affecting fuel efficiency and safety.

Test and refresh emergency kits with seasonal gear, water, and food.
