Broward County parents: you don’t have to navigate special education alone.

EA²—Education Advocacy Associates brings together my experience as a former principal and a parent of children with disabilities to help families prepare, participate, and be heard.

I’m currently working on three advocacy matters, including those involving my own children. I’ll accept only a limited number of additional clients so I can give each family the time, preparation, and individualized attention they deserve.

Nonattorney educational advocacy. Legal advice, complaint drafting, and hearing representation are not included. All package hours include review, preparation, calls, emails, meetings, and follow-up. Travel is quoted separately. Additional hours require approval.

An IEP should be more than paperwork. It should connect a child’s individual needs to meaningful goals, appropriate instruction, and the support needed to make progress.

That’s the approach I’m bringing to EA² — Education Advocacy Associates.

As a former elementary school principal with more than 20 years in education - and a parent navigating special education myself - I understand both the school system and how overwhelming it can feel from the other side of the table.

Recently, I supported a family through a Manifestation Determination Review in which the team determined that the student’s conduct was a manifestation of their disability. Following that determination, the scheduled expulsion hearing was canceled.

My role included reviewing records, preparing concerns, and supporting the family during the meeting. That is the kind of thoughtful, child-specific advocacy I’m bringing to EA².

I’m developing a South Florida advocacy practice focused on educational records review, IEP preparation and meeting support, and parent coaching.

Every child deserves an appropriate education. Every parent deserves to be heard, taken seriously, and included in decisions about their child.
