Halloween is one of the best nights to get to know your neighborhood. Here’s how to keep it fun and safe:

🔦 Light the way. Turn on porch lights and clear walkways of hoses, decorations, and leaves so little ghosts don’t trip.
👀 Be seen. Add reflective tape or glow sticks to costumes, and carry a flashlight.
🚶 Stick to sidewalks. Cross at corners and never dart out between parked cars.
👨‍👩‍👧 Go together. Younger kids should have an adult; older kids should travel in groups with a planned route.
🍬 Check the candy. Inspect treats at home before digging in, and toss anything unwrapped.
🐶 Secure your pets. Doorbells and costumes can stress even the friendliest pup.
🚗 Drive slow. Watch for excited kids between 5 and 9 p.m.
