The Fed decides Wednesday, and Bend buyers may be looking at a real window.
Rates just dipped to 7.32 percent, the first drop since August after seven straight weeks of climbing. The Fed is expected to hold steady Wednesday, but markets are pricing in another hike in December, so this dip is a window, not a new trend.
For the first time in years, this market favors buyers. 45 percent of Bend homes sold in the last year had their price cut before they sold, and buyers have not had this much room to negotiate since before the pandemic. Sellers are helping with buyers' costs, about $10,000 on average, worth roughly $390 a month off your payment for the first two years when put toward your loan.
