These kids. ❤️ My own, their friends, our neighborhood kids who are like family. I love them all so much.
This morning feels really hard as we get closer to sending our kids back to school tomorrow. And, I know I am not alone with this feeling. Every parent I know is having a hard time in some way. My heart hurts for everyone. There really are no words for what our community is going through. The emotions have been all over the place. It all is just so hard to process and comes in waves of emotions.
I keep trying to hold on to the good and not the evil. When my mind starts spinning with all the fears and what if’s, I just try to be in the moment with these kids. Watch them laugh, play, and just be kids. I’m so grateful for all these kids and families we have around us. To cry with, talk with, hug, and just be there for each other. I think we all need that right now.
My heart is so broken for the families who have lost their child or was injured and don’t get to go back to school tomorrow, for all the Silver Rail students who had to live through the worst, to the teachers and staff whose lives have been forever changed. I am so, so sorry.
Just praying for everyone and hoping we can keep holding each other up through all of this. ❤️
