The new H-E-B in southwest Fort Worth has been the talk of the town for two weeks. So here’s everything we know, all in one place.

WHO: H-E-B, working with Cassco, the Edwards family company behind Clearfork, Tanglewood, Overton Park, and Riverhills.

WHAT: A full H-E-B grocery store on more than 20 acres. H-E-B says the store will be built to fit the feel of the neighborhoods around it.

WHERE: The northeast corner of Chisholm Trail Parkway and Oakmont Boulevard, inside Overland, a new 250-acre community on the Edwards Ranch. The new 75-acre Autobahn car campus is going up right next door.

WHEN: Construction starts early next year. Doors are expected to open in late 2028.

WHY: H-E-B says shoppers have asked for years for a store closer to downtown Fort Worth.

WHAT IT MEANS FOR YOU: If you live in Mira Vista, Bellaire Village, Overton South, Wedgwood, or Hulen Bend Estates, expect construction on this corner for a while, because two big projects are building side by side. Buying a home nearby? Drive Oakmont at 5 p.m. before you decide.

STILL UNKNOWN: How big the store will be and what it will look like. The plans are still being drawn up, and I’ll share them as soon as they’re public.

Swipe through for everything you need to know about the new Autobahn campus at Chisholm Trail and Oakmont. Right now it’s dirt, gravel and steel, with about 200 workers on site most days. The land had no water or power, so crews had to bring all of that in first, which is why the opening moved to 2027. Mini and BMW are set to open first in July 2027, followed by Volvo and Porsche in August, with Land Rover and Cadillac wrapping up around October. Brendan expects Autobahn to grow from about 600 employees today to around 800 within 18 months of opening, and they’re offering scholarships to local high school seniors to train as service techs at Tarrant County College. Neighbors can expect a new traffic light, trees to block noise, and an acre of green space planned for community events.

I went back to the Autobahn jobsite off Chisholm Trail and Oakmont with president Brendan Harrington for an update. Right now it’s dirt, gravel and steel, with about 200 workers on site most days.
