Tupi and Guidai made the journey from Brazil to Ireland like seasoned pros. Their newest pack member, Quetza the puppy, needed a little extra TLC to get ready for the big move.

Flying with dogs and traveling internationally with puppies requires more than just booking a flight. For dog import, puppies must be weaned and fully independent from their mom to travel. Most countries require pets to be at least 15–16 weeks old for dog imports due to rabies vaccination timing and post-vaccine waiting periods.

We helped Quetza’s family plan her vaccinations, timeline, and crate training well in advance. PetRelocation coordinated a specific dog travel crate that gave Quetza space to grow in case the family traveled again.

🦜✈️ You can’t wing it when it comes to moving birds internationally.

Most people don't realize pet birds have one of the strictest import processes of any pet.

Many bird species like parrots, macaws, and cockatoos are protected under CITES. A permit is often needed from both the country of origin and the U.S. before your bird can be imported.

Bringing a pet bird into the U.S. usually means a 30-day quarantine at a USDA Animal Import Center in Miami or New York, with testing for avian influenza and Newcastle disease.

On top of that, bird owners need to file a bird import permit at least 7 business days before the bird ships, plus a government-issued health certificate from the country of origin.

None of that stops the bird reunion. It just means someone has to plan for it early.
