This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we’re thinking of the people within our communities whose lives have been touched by breast cancer. Those facing a diagnosis. Those navigating treatment or life after it. Those caring for someone they love. & those carrying the memory of someone deeply missed. Every one of these experiences deserves compassion, space, & support, even after the pink ribbons come down.

To anyone going through a difficult chapter: you don’t have to put on a brave face to deserve kindness. You are part of this community, & you matter to us.

Let’s give a huge round of applause to ✨RJ ✨a true cornerstone of our Houma community team who has been bringing his maintenance expertise to us for 9 incredible years!

❤️ RJ treats every resident's issue as if it were his own. His philosophy? "Fix it how you would want your own house fixed." That level of care and pride in his work shows in everything he does!

🔨Fun fact alert! 🪵 Back in 9th grade, RJ built a wooden nightstand from scratch—and he still uses it to this very day! Talk about built to last! He also has a hidden knack for solving brain games, which definitely explains why he’s so good at troubleshooting tricky maintenance fixes.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 On his days off, you’ll find RJ making lasting memories surrounded by his wife and kids.

🏠Bailey’s favorite part of the job is helping people find a community that truly feels like home. She thrives on putting a smile on everyone's face and creating a welcoming, positive experience for every single person she meets!

❤️On her days off, Bailey loves making memories with her family and her 3-year-old little boy. In fact, her hidden talent is being a full-time toddler entertainer—her son definitely keeps her on her toes!

⚜️ Today was anything but an ordinary training day at A.C. Lewis Management! We brought our centralized departments together for a full day of cross-training designed to strengthen the teamwork behind every resident experience ⚜️

Our leasing professionals gained a deeper understanding of our support departments to improve collaboration. Midway through the day, we all came together to connect and recharge over a fajita bar for lunch.

Afterward, our support teams stepped into the world of leasing to better grasp the processes and challenges they help support. Ultimately, when we understand the whole picture, we communicate better, solve problems faster, and succeed together.

We also took time to celebrate incredible achievements made so far during the 2026 leasing season. Congratulations to our outstanding leasing team for the hard work, consistency, and energy you bring every day!

To top it off, we shared some exciting announcements about our future, and all the while our corporate team was also there to participate throughout the day as they officially kicked off 2027 budget planning.

Learning, collaboration, recognition, planning, and a great lunch! All under one roof. It was a full day that perfectly demonstrated what is possible when every department works toward the same goal: growing together to create happier residents 🏡

🌟 Employee Spotlight: Meet JaKayla 🌟

We are thrilled to shine this week's spotlight on JaKayla, who joined us as a Trainer in February 2026!

What JaKayla loves most about her role is the opportunity to be a true partner to the whole team, whether that means jumping in wherever she's needed or simply offering a listening ear. Her secret to success is her organization, and it’s no surprise that her teammates describe her as organized, detail-oriented, and resourceful.

🛋️ When she's off the clock, JaKayla's perfect day involves "couch rotting" with a good book or diving into a new house project. 🏠 She’s also a self-proclaimed "hobby hopper"! From reading and crafting to building, painting, and gardening—she loves to dabble in a bit of everything and always circles back to her favorites. 🎨

🦸‍♀️ If she could have any superpower, it would be teleportation so she could skip the travel time and tackle her ultimate bucket list goal: traveling as much as she can, for as long as she can. ✈️ As she wisely notes, "No experience is insignificant." (And if she ever teleports to France, she might be able to use the 10 years of French she took... just don't ask her how much she actually retained! 😉)

When it comes to her TV alter ego, JaKayla totally relates to Brooke Davis from One Tree Hill. 📺 Just like Brooke, JaKayla is strong, stubborn, empathetic, has a growth mindset, and absolutely loves a good party or a wedding.

JaKayla approaches life and work with an inspiring motto: "You only get out what you put in."

Let’s give a fabulous shout-out to ✨Eva Pierce✨ who has been a wonderful part of our community team for a little over a year!
💖Eva absolutely loves helping people find a place to call home. She thrives on making her applicants feel comfortable and genuinely excited for their big move, no matter what their situation is!

🎂Fun fact alert! Eva is a professional cake decorator and has been creating sweet masterpieces for over 5 years. As if that wasn't cool enough, she also used to sing at opera events as a child! She still loves to sing as a hobby today.
:👩‍👧 On her days off, Eva loves nothing more than relaxing and having quality family time with her daughter, Holland.
✈️⛽If she could have any superpower, it would be flying—mostly because traffic is bad and gas prices are high. The first stop on the flight would be to visit Ireland!
🎩 Eva would happily join the cast of Peaky Blinders because she is completely obsessed with early 1900s style.

🔎Jacob’s favorite part of working in the apartment industry is being a part of building a real community. And with his unbeatable attention to detail, he makes sure everything runs perfectly behind the scenes!
🏆Fun fact—Jacob was actually the 2006 Time Magazine Person of the Year. (If you know, you know! 😉)
🔥 He has a pretty awesome hidden hobby: Poi Spinning! However, he spends his days off, in his own words: "On my butt." Honestly, we respect the commitment to resting!
✈️Superpower of Choice: Flying! Why sit in traffic when you can just soar over it for easy travel?
🌊A dream vacation all the way to Oceania is a MUST!
