ONE YEAR!!! 🙌
It has been 365 days💜 since I walked into Baylor for my huge surgery of replacing my Ascending Aorta and repairing an anuyerism. That 12 hour surgery went well with some minor complications but within the first week of healing my body shut down...But God said oh no! There were so many challenging days and days where they didnt know if I would make it thru the night. Then the night came and they lost me for a few minutes...but GOD! After multiple surgeries, 7 weeks of that on life support, a total of 125 days in hospital I was wheeled out Feb. 27th this year... Could only take a few steps, now walking couple miles daily and still healing, strengthening daily and most important alive. I am so incredibly thankful and humbled by everyone's love, support, and most important- their prayers. I felt them on my weakest days and it gave me & my family the strength to get thru when needed. God is so great and can truly do the impossible. Here's to the next chapter!! Nothing else matters without your faith, family and health. You are never ever promised tomorrow so be PRESENT today and appreciate the small things.

Earlier this morning had my final Home Health PT appt. I have officially graduated 🎓! So thankful for my Therapists Lance and Jerry . They have worked with me over the last 6️⃣months. When I first met with them after my long hospital stay I could barely walk, a few steps at the most, couldnt lift my legs or arms, could not wash my own hair, or do many everyday things. Now, thru lots of prayer and continuous work I HAVE STRENGTH, WALKING 4-5K steps daily, and doing a ton more daily. I still have a long way to go to be at full strength. But for anyone that may be in the thick....I promise there is hope. With God all things are possible. Thank you to everyone that has been cheering, praying and following my journey! It is hard to process that we have been without you for 15 years today. Not a day goes by I dont think of you. Thank you for being so amazing, such an inspiration to Steff and I and so many others. You were kind, caring, loved so hard, self-less, driven, loved to dance and sing and your love for Jesus and strong faith always radiated from you. I love and miss you so much Mamacita! Thank you for being the most amazing Mom to us the short time you were here. Love you so so much!

We returned home from my follow up to Houston this afternoon....and happy to report my FINAL DRAIN was removed today! So so thankful and excited! It has been a part of me for 6 months. I started with 6 chest tubes and JP drains in January after my last surgery and this was the final one! My CT Scan is looking better for my lungs, and all work done on my aorta looks great. Thank you Jesus! Thank yall for continued prayers, check ins and support. What a journey it has been! Now to not have my little luggage on my side feels so strange but so good!! #

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mom's here and those watching from above. This Mother's Day has been a little emotional so thankful I am here to celebrate with my kids and family. It was a scary time recovering from multiple surgeries and not knowing if I would survive the night. God is the only one who knew how the chapter would unfold. Six months later and so happy to be here, recovering, working, doing what I love and living life to fullest. Also, it makes 15 years without Mom here to celebrate Mother's Day with. She taught us so much about life and being a Mom. So thankful for the time we had with her. Here's to all the wonderful Mom's may you all know what a blessing you are.
