Hutto is planning a nearly 40,000-square-foot Crunch Fitness. 💪

Construction is expected to begin in November on the $1.5 million project on Ed Schmidt Boulevard, with completion currently projected for late 2027.

The gym is nice. The bigger story is the pattern: Hutto keeps adding the retail, restaurants and services that buyers have been waiting for.

The “there’s nothing in Hutto” argument is getting harder to make.

Mustang Ridge could be the next Central Texas community to see major data center growth. 💻👀

VanTrust is considering setting aside about 200 acres of its massive development for a data center, replacing earlier plans that could have brought hundreds of homes and retail to that portion of the property.

The bigger development also includes plans for up to 3 million square feet of warehouse and logistics space — and even more of the property could eventually be considered for data center use.

Nothing is finalized yet, and city leaders are discussing how requirements around noise, water, setbacks, and environmental impacts could help manage the development.

And this may only be the beginning, with another data center developer also showing interest in Mustang Ridge.

A different kind of community is being planned in Bastrop County. 🏡👀

Del Sol is expected to bring 600 homesites across more than 336 acres, with the first 154-lot phase planned to begin development in late 2027.

What makes this project interesting is its approach to homeownership. Instead of bringing in large volume builders, the developer plans to sell finished lots directly to buyers, giving homeowners the opportunity to build a custom or manufactured home while owning the land underneath it.

Plans also include an elementary school, and the community will be located near McDade and Elgin.

Another development to watch as growth continues east of Austin. 📍
