When you rent, you are paying for a place to live.

When you own, your home may also help you build equity over time.

Of course, buying comes with responsibilities too—maintenance, taxes, insurance, and all the things homeowners know have a habit of showing up at inconvenient times. 😄

So the real question is not, “Is owning always better?”

It is:

“Does homeownership make sense for me right now?”

I’m calling November *“Note-vember.” ✍️🍂*

My goal: *one handwritten note every day this month.*

Nothing elaborate.

Maybe a thank-you.
A little encouragement.
A note to someone I’ve been thinking about.
Or simply, “I appreciate you.”

We communicate constantly now—but somehow getting an actual note in the mail still feels special.

My Halloween version of one treat, one trick, and one lesson. 🎃

🍬 Treat: Enjoy the moment.

👻 Trick: Convincing myself, “I can fit one more thing into my calendar.”

✨ Lesson: Busy and productive are NOT always the same thing.

Anyone else guilty of thinking one tiny opening on the calendar means there’s room for three more things? 😂

Here’s to enjoying Halloween—and maybe leaving a little white space in the calendar while we’re at it.

Halloween weekend is officially here. 🎃👻

No big plan. No perfect setup. Just a little Halloween fun and enjoying one of those weekends when the neighborhood feels especially lively.

One of the things I love about Morningside and Atlanta in the fall is seeing porches decorated, neighbors out walking, and everyone getting into the spirit.

So I have to ask:

Are you handing out candy, dressing up, going out—or turning off the porch light and pretending you’re not home? 😂
