Waiting for the people relocating to Loudoun County, VA to find my page.
Because Zillow will not tell you what your weekends will look like in that beautiful home you saved because it has a huge island.
It will not tell you which neighborhoods have the events you are craving to connect quickly because you feel like you are starting over.
It will not tell you which neighborhoods have the best trails, the best views, and are still convenient to everything.
Or if that neighborhood is as walkable as you thought it was.
A house is more than walls.
I have lived through two relocations. Both drastically different. We moved twice because of my husband’s job. But the first time never felt like home. So the second time we needed to get it right.
I remember googling Northern Virginia like it was a city. And then Loudoun County, because we heard the schools were great; smaller yet still huge. And driving ten minutes in any direction feels so different depending on where you land.
The kids were 4 and 8. I had no do overs. I wanted them to finally feel like they had a home they could tell people they grew up in.
I grew up on an island where people rarely move away. Where you see your family all the time because nobody is ever too far. Community, closeness and a sense of home are not just nice to have for me. They are everything. I wanted that for my kids here.
I wanted to make memories with them. Hiking, biking, kayaking, exploring the old towns that built this country. A life well lived on a regular Saturday. Events everywhere. Schools that felt were like a second home. A place to belong.
And we found it. Right here in Loudoun County.
You do not need a house. You need a setting for your story.
After two relocations I am happy to have put my legal career aside to help others navigate this. So they feel seen and in good hands.
