One idea from my conversation with Alex Quate really stuck with me:

"The ROR, return on relationship, can be much bigger than the ROI."

We talked about relationships, curiosity, personal brand and the unexpected opportunities that can come from simply putting yourself in the right rooms.

There's a lot more to Alex's story. I'll let her tell it.

Take a look and let me know what resonates with you.

True growth starts when you stop seeing failure as a setback and start treating it as a lesson. Whether you are building a business or pivoting into a new career, stay authentic to who you are. How do you stay true to yourself when things get difficult?

10/25/2026

You have been climbing for ages, but lately, more effort only leads to the same dead end. Sometimes that ceiling is not a wall, but a clear signal that it is time to pivot. Learn to identify your brand identity and find a new route forward.

Stepping through an unknown door often yields a return on risk far greater than any initial investment. In the beginning, say yes to every opportunity, even when you feel unqualified. Growth happens in rooms where you feel out of your depth. Have you ever taken a leap without knowing the outcome?

Why do clients keep coming back? It's not just about the transaction. It's about genuine care and authenticity. When you truly invest in your clients, their problems become your problems, and that's what builds lasting relationships.

One thing Kimberly Dawes said during our conversation summed up her approach to real estate pretty well:

"It's not a transaction for me."

Kimberly creates educational content almost every day because she wants buyers and sellers to understand what's happening and make better decisions.

But what really stood out was how she talked about her clients.

If they're upset, she's upset. If something goes wrong, even when it's outside her control, she cares about what they're going through.

And it doesn't matter whether they're buying a $60,000 mobile home or a $4 million home.

They get the same commitment to service.

That's probably a big part of why clients come back and refer people to her.

We talked about a lot more during our conversation, including Kimberly's journey through sales, building a team, learning from mistakes and figuring out where she creates the most value.

Take a look and let me know what resonates with you.

The world won't end if you hit pause. You need that downtime to truly reflect and figure out where you're meant to be. Is it a placement or timing issue? You'll never know unless you slow down enough to find out.

Have you ever known something wasn't working but kept going anyway?

That was a big part of my conversation with Julie Bateman.

Julie stepped into a demanding leadership role with a company and people she cared deeply about. About six months in, she knew it wasn't right.

But she had made a commitment.

So she questioned herself. Gave it more time. Worked harder.

Eventually, she realized something had to change.

We talked about burnout, brokerage fit, opening her own firm, defining success on your own terms and something I think goes well beyond real estate:

Sometimes the life and business that fit the old version of you don't fit the person you've become.

Julie's advice is to "press the pause button" long enough to understand what's actually wrong.

But don't stay paused forever.

Eventually, you have to move.

This was a very candid conversation about figuring out who you are now and having the courage to build around that person.

I'd be interested to hear what part of Julie's story resonates with you.

Achieve consistent business results by dedicating just 1-3 hours daily to lead generation. This focused effort, done 5 days a week, is non-negotiable. It's not about sales or marketing first; it's about mastering lead generation.
