Devonshire Park Residents enjoyed a fun evening filled with good conversation and ice cream. In addition to the ice cream were there were strawberries, various syrups, pretzels, cookies, cakes and pies. Lot of yummies!!!! and who counts the calories. Decorations were provided by MaryKate, one of our residents making everyone feel like we were in an old fashioned ice cream parlor. Thank you to MaryKate for the decoration and to our residents who brought all the trimmings to go with the ice cream.
Fourth of July was celebrated with hotdogs, hamburgs, salads and all the trimmings. In addition lot of delicious desserts topped off with some yummy cheesecakes. Thanks to our chefs who brought the yummies and to our chefs who manned the grills and cooked those burgers and dogs.
Everyone is looking forward to this Saturday for the ice cream social. Remember those days of making ice cream in the old crank ice cream maker. At least some of our residents do.
Recently Devonshire Park Apartments brought back the 60's enjoying music from the time, food (remember those spaghettios) and some of our residents still had their favorite tye-dyed shirts. Thanks to Mary Kate and her committee, we had some really neat decorations definitely taking us back to the those times. Another great evening at Devonshire.
Spring is here and residents are again enjoying the beautiful surroundings. Flowers have been planted and everything is green. Some of our tenants have finally started planting their gardens after the rain has finally stopped. As you can see from the picture, even though we are close to major highways, shopping, medical facilities and restaurants, we still enjoy the country feeling. The deer is this picture were seen in our front yard. We often see deer, rabbits, squirrels and many beautiful birds. That is one of the many reasons we all love living here.
Recently some of our Mothers in Devonshire celebrated Mother's Day with tea and desserts. A very pleasant afternoon was spent sharing stories and pictures.
This weekend we will be celebrating Mother's Day with a Mother's tea complete with tea, cookies, prizes, and decorations made by some of the tenants. We celebrate a week late as we did not want to spoil the Mother's weekend with family. Many of our residents had family events going on.
Residents are hopefully waiting for the sun to come out so they can get outside and enjoy our beautiful surroundings. Today was one of those days and made us feel that maybe Spring was in the air.
The Kentucky Derby came to Devonshire Park Apartments this past weekend. The ladies wore their fancy hats and the races were held. Hats off to the winning horses. Our winning horse was not disqualified.Everyone enjoyed hot dogs, sauerkraut, potato salad and lots of snacks. Thank you to MaryKate for her hard work.
Sixty people enjoyed a pancake breakfast on Saturday. The food was prepared by a few of the men residents of Devonshire and rivaled that of any restaurant. The many Easter decorations, complete with colored Easter eggs, made by ladies of Devonshire were also enjoyed and even more enjoyable they were able to take some home.
Some of the ladies at Devonshire spent a pleasant afternoon creating decorations for the Pancake Breakfast this Saturday. Coloring Easter eggs and making baskets brought back a lot of memories. Some of the men from Devonshire are expecting to serve about 60 people at the breakfast. Menu will consist of Pancakes, of course, scrambled eggs, sausage, orange juice, and coffee.
Family Feud came to Devonshire Park Apartments on Saturday. Great competition and everyone had a great time. Congratulations to The Flintstones who were the winners. Everyone is looking forward to the Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, April 13th.
Family Feud will be coming to Devonshire Park Apartments. This Saturday residents will divide into families and compete in Family Feud. May the best team win.
St. Patrick's Day was celebrated with a lot of fun Irish music and lots of green desserts. Lots of fun, yummies and conversation.
There is always something fun and interesting happening at Devonshire. This morning Coffee and Do-nuts; this afternoon Bingo and tonight there will be Happy Hour.
Not only do our residents have a beautiful place to live, but there are always lots of fun things to do for those who want to participate.
Recently Devonshire residents went to the old west and enjoyed a western night complete with several kinds of chili, sides, and of course desserts. Some residents ended up on the wanted list. Keep an eye for them. Music from the old west and a western trivia completed the fun along with great conversations with neighbors and friends.
Snow can create problems for many people but one thing it does for the residents of Devonshire is offer than a beautiful view from their windows. Waking up on Monday morning to a view such as this and knowing that your sidewalks and the parking area will be cleared for you is one of the many perks when you live at Devonshire. Hats off to our maintenance who had everything cleared by mid morning.
What a view from your apartment. Devonshire is beautiful even on a snowy, icy winter night. Everyone stay warm and dry this weekend and watch for pictures next week from our Western Chili Night.
On a cold, snowy night like tonight, wouldn't you like to be able to come home and take a nice swim in the beautiful heated pool. All residents can use the pool, though there is a minimal fee for the residents who live outside the Senior Building. If you are fortunate enough to be retired, you can enjoy the pool anytime during the day and even enjoy the aerobic exercises every Tuesday and Thursday.
Want to use the gym. You don't need to get in your car to go, there is a fully equipped gym in the complex that is for all residents to use.
Or if you just want to curl up and relax with a good book, watch a movie or a great show on a large screen television, you can do so in one of the two activity rooms. The main activity room is equipped with Wi-Fi if you want to use your computer for socializing and checking your e-mails.

Some of our tenants were hard at work creating Valentine decorations and listening to the wonderful music of the 50's. This was in preparation for our Valentine Pizza and Game party.
Valentine's Day came early to our residents. On Saturday they enjoyed pizza and beverages. In addition to the pizza there were several types of chocolate cake, chocolate cookies, several kinds of candy, chocolate covered pretzels, creme puffs, and more. I am sure everyone had enough sugar to last the week.Then they enjoyed playing games and interesting conversation.
Superbowl weekend. Residents will be getting together for the Superbowl Sunday evening to root for their favorite team. Snacks, hot dogs, and other goodies will be shared.
Last Saturday residents enjoyed a soup and chowder night and there were so many great soups you did not know where to start. There was Crab Chowder, Reuben, Chicken Noodle, Beef Vegetable, Black Bean, Stuffed Green Pepper Soup, Cream of Potato Soup and several others. "Yum"
Devonshire has some of the best cooks in the Lehigh Valley. Residents don't need to go out to dinner, they just need to join the events for great dining and lots of fun.
Our knitters are hard at work. This week they have again donated over 50 scarves and hats to the homeless shelter. These ladies not only enjoy a nice social get together every week but they are definitely making a difference in our community.

Residents of Devonshire got their sugar fill on Saturday. Each resident brought a delicious treat. Some examples, apple pie, Boston Creme cake, brownies, chocolate fudge, cookies, a sinfully delicious chocolate dessert, and cheese cake are just some of the items. Coffee, tea and sodas were served to help wash it down. Everyone went home very happy and content.
The residents of Devonshire get into the spirit of the holiday with holiday decorations. Devonshire decorates all the entrances as well as throughout the complex and the residents join in with their individual decorations.
Then they started off the New Year with a New Years Eve party with a champagne toast at midnight. Though only 10 residents made it to midnight it was a fun evening.

Two Devonshire residents helping get ready for the annual holiday party. Residents enjoyed meatballs, vegetable and meat lasagna, a salad bar, cake and cookies. Table decorations were made by tenants and each tenant was able to take an ornament home.

Joey Vincent, well known entertainer will be entertaining Devonshire residents tomorrow. This will be the 6th time that he will be performing and each time is a wonderful treat. Joey has everyone laughing when he shares some of his humerous stories and impersonations. Joey Vincent has something for everyone. More than just music, more than just comedy, his show is fresh and original! Fast-paced humor, rapid-fire costume change impressions, and a musical tribute to the trumpet greats are just part of the fun. Each year residents look forward to his return. The residents of Devonshire Park Apartments spent Tuesday evening singing Holiday Music with the accompaniment of the Western Salisbury Jerusalem Church bell choir. After the singing, residents enjoyed coffee, cookies and conversation. A nice way to start the holiday season.
Our knitters and crocheters at Devonshire have been busy all summer and fall and have produced more 100 scarves that were recently donated to the homeless shelter. In all, this wonderful group has produced more than 250 scarves that have been donated to the homeless. Way to go ladies!!!!
Devonshire Park Apartment residents, management and staff are sending everyone warm wishes for a very Happy Thanksgiving. May this day be a beautiful reminder of the wonderful things in life and the wonderful friends that you have met. May your day be filled with laughter and happiness and most important if you are traveling stay safe.
Veterans who live at Devonshire Park were thanked on Monday with coffee, donuts and danish. Some of our Veterans and the wives of our Veterans brought pictures and shared stories.It was fun seeing them in their gear from 30-50 years ago. "Thank you for your service."

Devonshire Park Apartment residents recently celebrated Halloween with a pancake breakfast which included pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs, juice and coffee. A special treat were the pumpkin pancakes, a new taste sensation.The breakfast was cooked and served by some of the men residents which is always a special treat. Here are some of the chefs. A little scary but fun. Several of our residents also joined in the fun of the event.
The next event will be happy hour tonight at 5:00. A nice way to end the week and relax with neighbors and friends.
Fall is coming to Lehigh Valley and there is no prettier place then the Devonshire Park Apartments. It is so nice being a resident of Devonshire because you can enjoy the leaves and the beauty without ever having to rake a leaf. You are also within a short distance to the Fish Hatchery and the park and the little Lehigh Creek for those invigorating fall walks.Just like our motto, "Country Living with City convenience". Recently the residents enjoyed a Pumpkin Delite night. Each resident brought a pumpkin treat. There were pumpkin pies, pumpkin bars, dip, cookies, roll and numerous other delicious items. Each person decorated a pumpkin face which is displayed throughout the 1641 building. What a fun night! Now they are looking forward to the upcoming pancake breakfast this coming Saturday.

Devonshire Park residents recently enjoyed a Luau. From the time they entered the room, it felt like a little taste of the islands. Food consisted of pork, poi,( imported straight from Hawaii, pineapple and lots of other delicious yummies including a Hawaiian wedding cake.
Decorations and music provided the atmosphere and everyone got into the spirit of the event with lots of Hawaiian colors and flowers.
Great fun for everyone.
Can you believe that this is a puzzle! This is a beautiful picture of the state of Pa. which is actually a puzzle that was done by several of the tenants of Devonshire Park Apts. The tenants then put the puzzle into a framed picture. There is always an ongoing puzzle in the activity room that tenants are welcome to stop in and add a piece or more. This is just one of the many activities that are ongoing at Devonshire.
