Some days I feel incredibly capable. Other days I question almost everything.

I have learned that perseverance is rarely loud. Sometimes it is simply getting up, trying again, laughing when you can, and continuing to build a life that feels like yours.

For me, that has meant motherhood, marriage, work, real estate investing, hospitality, hosting, and taking chances on ideas I did not always feel completely ready for.

Not because I have it all figured out.

Because I keep going.

And somewhere along the way, I realized that an “ordinary” woman can build a pretty extraordinary life. 🤎

Apparently our haunted house has excellent Wi-Fi, fresh linens, and a dryer that lies. 👻

We love hosting. We also know the very specific panic of “Can you call me?” on turnover day. 😂

This year has reminded us how much the way we speak to ourselves matters.

Through investing and hosting, we have made mistakes, lost money, and questioned our decisions. We have also gained incredible connections, family experiences, and lessons we are taking into whatever comes next.

As we step into Q4, we are practicing a little mindset shift:

“I failed” → “I learned.”
“I am not ready” → “I can take the first step.”
“I give up” → “I can try a different way.”

Reframing helps us see what we can do next, even when things have not gone as planned.

That is what we are carrying into the rest of this year: more curiosity, a little courage, and room to keep learning. 🤍

Who says saunas are only for winter? 🌲🔥

Our new 6-person cedar sauna has quickly become one of the most-loved amenities at Sojourn Chalet.

One thing many first-time visitors are surprised to discover is that even in the middle of summer, the evenings in the Pocono Mountains can be wonderfully cool. After a day spent at the lake, hiking nearby trails, or soaking up the sunshine, there is nothing quite like stepping into the warmth of the cedar sauna as the mountain air begins to cool.

The scent of cedar, the peaceful forest views, and the contrast between the crisp evening air and the cozy heat create a ritual our guests cannot stop talking about.
