MORE HOUSING COULD BE COMING TO TWO AREAS OF ABILENE!

Abilene continues to grow, and the City Council just approved zoning changes that could bring more housing to two different parts of town.

Here’s where:

Musgrave Boulevard and East Lake Road
Approximately 22.67 acres have been approved for future multifamily development.

Buffalo Gap Road, north of Wagon Wheel Avenue
Approximately 10.15 acres have also received zoning approval for future multifamily development.

Now, this doesn’t mean construction is starting tomorrow. The zoning changes allow for future development, but there are still steps that have to happen before anything gets built.

It’s interesting to watch how much Abilene continues to change.

We’ve seen new businesses, restaurants, neighborhoods, and developments coming to our city, and now there could be even more housing options.

I’m curious what everyone thinks.

Do you think Abilene needs more apartments and multifamily housing, or would you rather see more single-family neighborhoods being built?

And if you live near either of these areas, I’d especially love to hear your thoughts!
