Tanjong Rhu Residents' Network Tanjong Rhu Resident’s Network was started in 2000 to build a strong sense of community and belonging This area was formerly known as Sandy Point.

Tanjong Rhu is a combination of 'cape' / 'point' (Tanjong) while Rhu comes from Casuarina trees, referred to in Malay as Pokok Rhu. It is said to have first appeared in de Erédia's 1604 Map of Singapore, written as "Tanjon Rû". Tanjong Rhu Neighbourhood Committee which is entirely made of volunteers was started in 2000 under the People's Association. It seeks to encourage active citizenry and foster stronger community bonds amongst Residents living in Condominiums located all along Tanjong Rhu Road and part of Fort Road. Tanjong Rhu Neighbourhood Committee also work with various government agencies to improve the social and physical environment within the neighbourhood. Its main functions are to:

1. Promote neighbourliness, harmony and cohesiveness amongst residents.
2. Connect with and make recommendations to Grassroots Adviser and Government Agencies on the needs and aspirations of residents.
3. Disseminate information and obtain feedback on government policies and actions from the residents.
4. Foster good citizenship amongst residents. If you are a Singapore Citizen, please consider joining Tanjong Rhu Neighbourhood Committee as a volunteer by registering here https://www.grassrootsconnect.pa.gov.sg/VolunteerRegistration.aspx

Our Grassroots Adviser Ms. Gho Sze Kee 吴诗琪 invests a lot of time with our Residents to hear their feedback, ideas and thoughts. A key forum for this is Chit Chat sessions that we organise every quarter at one condominium. This time round, we were at Water Place, where Adviser has an engaging two hour conversation.

Following multiple feedback and site observations regarding large groups of crows along the park connector.

NParks will be carrying out a crow trapping exercise around Tanjong Rhu Promenade / PCN from 24 to 31 October 2026. Several cages will be placed along the park connector and at adjacent state land during this period.

This exercise aims to address concerns such as noise disturbances, health and hygiene issues and safety hazards caused by these birds in the area.

Please do not disturb or tamper with these crow traps. Please advise your children of the same.

Because little details and Resident feedback matters

A Resident from Waterside shared feedback that there is a significant height difference between the footpath and grass turf at this location near Waterside and Singapore Swimming Club. We worked with LTA to get a luminescent yellow line painted to increase visibility of where the footpath ends and grass turf begins. Hopefully this will make using the footpath safer for our Residents.
