The engine Roared, and Liwliwa turned inside out.
The heavy dredging ships off San Felipe, Zambales did something unexpected. By carving deep industrial trenches into the seabed, they accidentally engineered a surfer’s dream—bending the ocean swell into long, heavy, perfect A-frames.
For a second, it feels like a miracle. But look closer.
The same machines creating these flawless waves are systematically destroying our home. Stripped of its natural sand, the coast is collapsing. The fierce tides are devouring the beach, toppling the iconic agoho trees, and swallowing local resorts and livelihoods whole.
Under the surface, the marine ecosystem is suffocating.
We are riding waves engineered by the very things tearing Liwliwa apart. A paradise cannot stand if its foundations are washed away. It’s time to look past the perfect lineup. Protect the coast before there is nothing left to save. 🇵đź‡
