Anvaya Cove Golf Course in Morong, Bataan was named as the No. 1 golf destination in Southeast Asia for the second consecutive year. The course has also climbed to 15th overall in the Top 100 Golf Courses in Asia.
"Being able to win this award for two consecutive years and being the first in Southeast Asia is an achievement for management and everyone that has helped build this place," Anvaya Cove Golf & Sports Club General Manager Raymond Bunquin said in a statement on Tuesday.
The ranking represents the highest-ever placement recorded by a Philippine course on the regional list. The par-72 course climbed four spots from 19th in Asia in 2024, when it first secured the top Southeast Asian spot.
The award was received by Mr. Bunquin, Anvaya Cove Project Development Manager Sean Cuesta, Top 100 Golf Courses Asia Chairman of the Panel of Raters Committee Kim Sung Zong, Anvaya Cove Beach and Nature Club and Anvaya Cove Golf and Sports Club Brett Hickey, and Ayala Land Golf Courses General Manager Joe Dagdagan.
The list is determined by a panel of 74 golf industry experts representing 12 countries. In collaboration with Golf Travel Korea and Golf Travel China, raters assessed overall quality, strategic design, facilities, and service experience.
Designed around the existing landscape, the 82-hectare layout integrates mountain, forest, and coastal frontage on a single card. The course features vistas of the Zambales Mountain Range, Mount Natib, and Subic Bay.
The recognition highlights golf as a key driver for the leisure property market. Located in the Subic-Clark corridor, the destination targets volume travelers, such as Korean and Chinese golfers, seeking year-round play.
Mr. Bunquin emphasized that the back-to-back regional title reflects the "total experience" delivered to players. The estate combines high-end residential communities with exclusive sports and beach clubs. | via Juliana Gonzales
