🔥 HIGH-PROBABILITY XAUUSD PLAN
🟥 STRONG INTRADAY BIAS: SELL

Confidence: ~75–80% for the bearish intraday scenario, provided price remains below 4149–4150.

Your chart shows:

M5: bearish
M15: bearish
H1: bearish
H4: bearish
Current price: 4141.28
Resistance: 4145.04
Resistance 2: 4149.55
Major sell-side liquidity: 4125.50
SSL: 4123.20
Additional downside level: 4120.30
PDH: 4170.35
PDC: 4140.52
Recent structure: bearish MSS/BOS followed by recovery into resistance.

The key issue is that price is currently sitting around the PDC and below the 4145–4150 resistance cluster.

🥇 BEST ENTRY — SELL LIMIT
🔴 SELL LIMIT ZONE

4145.00 – 4149.50

This is my preferred setup.

SL: 4154.50–4156.00

TP1: 4140.50
TP2: 4135.40
TP3: 4132.00
TP4: 4125.50
TP5: 4123.20

Why this is the best setup

You have several confluences meeting there:

4145

Chart resistance
Previous reaction area
Near Asian/NY structure
Potential liquidity sweep/rejection

4149–4150

Resistance 2
Previous intraday high area
Structural supply
Excellent location for a liquidity grab before continuation lower.

So I would not chase the current 4141 price with a market sell unless confirmation appears.

⚡ BEST INSTANT SELL

If price does not retrace to 4145–4149:

Wait for:

M5 candle CLOSE below 4135.37

Then:

SELL: 4134.5–4135.3
SL: 4141.5
TP1: 4130
TP2: 4125.50
TP3: 4123.20
TP4: 4120.30

The important part is don't sell merely because price touches 4135.

You want:

Sweep/break 4135 → M5 close below → retest 4135–4137 → rejection → SELL.

That is much higher quality than blindly entering the breakdown.

🟢 HIGH-PROBABILITY BUY REVERSAL

There is also a very important buy zone, but I rank it below the sell setup.

BUY LIMIT #1

4133.0 – 4135.5

Only take it if price sweeps the lows and produces bullish M5 confirmation.

SL: 4125.00

TP1: 4140.50
TP2: 4145.00
TP3: 4149.50
TP4: 4154.50

🟢 STRONGER BUY REVERSAL ZONE

The more interesting reversal is:

4123.20 – 4125.50

This area contains your:

SSL 4123.20
Sell-side liquidity 4125.50
Previous lows/liquidity
Potential stop sweep

If price goes there and sweeps 4123–4125 then closes back above 4125, I would look for:

BUY: 4125–4127 after confirmation
SL: 4120.00
TP1: 4133
TP2: 4135.40
TP3: 4140.50
TP4: 4145
TP5: 4149.50

This becomes a liquidity-sweep reversal, rather than simply buying support.

🚨 VERY IMPORTANT INVALIDATION

The bearish setup becomes significantly weaker if:

M5/M15 closes and holds above 4150

Then I would stop looking for aggressive shorts.

If price breaks:

4150 → retest 4149–4150 → holds

then bullish continuation becomes possible toward:

4154 → 4160 → 4166 → 4170

And 4166–4170 is particularly important because your chart has BSL/PDH around that region.

🌎 FUNDAMENTAL ANALYSIS

The fundamentals are mixed, which is why I don't want to blindly call gold permanently bearish.

The September U.S. payroll report was weak: payrolls increased only about 29K, unemployment rose to 4.2%, and the market sharply reduced expectations for an October Fed hike. That is fundamentally supportive for gold.

However, the other side is currently powerful:

USD strength + elevated Treasury yields = bearish pressure on gold.

The 10-year Treasury yield recently reached around 5.34%, its highest level since 2002, while the dollar has remained strong. Higher yields increase the opportunity cost of holding non-yielding gold.

That's why the current environment is:

Long-term gold = structurally constructive
Near-term/intraday gold = bearish/corrective until resistance breaks

There is also an important catalyst ahead: FOMC minutes Wednesday, followed by U.S. jobless claims Thursday. Those can cause sharp XAUUSD volatility.

🎯 MY FINAL RANKING
Setup Entry Probability
🔴 SELL LIMIT 4145–4149.5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
🔴 SELL BREAKDOWN 4150 + retest ⭐⭐⭐½
🏆 My preferred trade

SELL LIMIT 4145–4149.5

SL: 4155

TP1: 4140.5
TP2: 4135.4
TP3: 4132
TP4: 4125.5
TP5: 4123.2

Do not chase at 4141.

Wait for the retracement into 4145–4149, or wait for the 4135 breakdown + retest.

The strongest reversal opportunity on the opposite side is 4123–4125 after a confirmed sell-side liquidity sweep.

This is a probability-based technical plan, not a guarantee; with gold currently sensitive to yields, USD and Fed repricing, confirmation is more important than forcing an entry.

📊 XAUUSD MARKET INSIGHT | OCTOBER 1, 2026

Technical Analysis + Fundamental Analysis + Key Trading Zones

Chart reference price: 4,152.8
Short-term market structure: Bearish pressure

🔎 1. TECHNICAL MARKET ANALYSIS

Gold is showing short-term bearish pressure, with price trading below the major moving averages and struggling to sustain bullish momentum above the 4,170–4,200 resistance area.

The recent price structure shows lower highs and selling pressure following a sharp decline. The key question is whether sellers can push price through nearby support or whether buyers will defend demand and trigger a corrective bounce.

🔴 Potential SELL Zones
4,159–4,171

Immediate resistance / potential rejection

4,180–4,200

Stronger supply and previous reaction zone

4,215–4,220

Major resistance area

Sell confirmation: Look for a liquidity sweep, bearish rejection candle, lower high, and bearish break of structure (BOS). A resistance touch alone is not sufficient confirmation.

🟢 Potential BUY Zones
4,145–4,138

Immediate demand / nearby support

4,135–4,125

Deeper support and potential liquidity area

4,110–4,100

Major downside support area

Buy confirmation: Wait for a liquidity sweep, strong bullish rejection, higher low, and bullish market-structure shift. Avoid buying simply because price enters a support zone.

🌍 2. FUNDAMENTAL ANALYSIS — WHAT IS DRIVING GOLD?

Recent market reports dated September 30 indicate that gold remained under pressure despite softer-than-expected U.S. inflation data. Rising Treasury yields, oil-driven inflation concerns, and expectations surrounding future Federal Reserve policy have complicated the outlook for gold.
Reuters
+1

A. Federal Reserve interest-rate expectations

If markets expect interest rates to remain higher for longer, gold may face selling pressure because it does not pay interest. If expectations shift toward rate cuts or a less restrictive policy, gold could receive support.

Current implication: Potential headwind while rate expectations remain elevated.
Reuters
+1

B. U.S. Treasury yields

Rising Treasury yields generally increase the opportunity cost of holding non-yielding gold. If yields continue climbing, gold may struggle to sustain a recovery; falling yields could help buyers regain momentum.

Current implication: A significant factor behind the recent downside pressure.
Reuters
+1

C. Oil prices and inflation concerns

Higher energy prices can keep inflation concerns elevated and influence expectations for tighter monetary policy. This can pressure gold through yields, although persistent inflation and uncertainty may also increase demand for gold as a hedge.

Current implication: Mixed, with the yield and interest-rate channel weighing on gold recently.
Reuters
+1

D. U.S. Dollar strength

Gold is priced in U.S. dollars. A stronger dollar can make gold more expensive for buyers using other currencies, potentially weighing on demand. A weaker dollar can provide support.

Current implication: Monitor the dollar alongside Treasury yields for confirmation.
Reuters

E. U.S. employment data — Nonfarm Payrolls (NFP)

Upcoming U.S. employment data can change expectations for Federal Reserve policy and trigger sharp price movements in gold. Stronger-than-expected employment may pressure gold if yields and the dollar rise; weaker data may support gold if yields and the dollar fall.

Trading implication: Watch the actual release, expectations, and immediate market reaction before entering.

🧭 Fundamental Bias

Short-term pressure

Bearish bias

Supported by recent price weakness and the impact of elevated yields and monetary-policy expectations.

Bullish recovery potential

Conditional

Would gain support if yields and the dollar weaken and price confirms a bullish structure shift.

Fundamentals do not determine the next candle with certainty. Even when the broader pressure is bearish, gold can rally sharply on short covering, unexpected data, or safe-haven demand.

📈 3. POSSIBLE MARKET SCENARIOS
Scenario 1
Bearish continuation

If price breaks below 4,145–4,138 and holds below after a retest, the next areas to monitor are:

4,125 → 4,110 → 4,100

Confirmation: bearish candle close, failed retest, and continued selling pressure.

Scenario 2
Relief bounce

If buyers defend 4,138–4,145, gold may recover toward:

4,159 → 4,171 → 4,180

Confirmation: liquidity sweep, bullish rejection, and a lower-timeframe structure shift.

Scenario 3
Bullish structure shift

A sustained break and successful retest above 4,171–4,180, followed by acceptance above 4,200, would weaken the immediate bearish structure.

Potential upside reference areas:

4,200 → 4,215 → 4,220

🧠 5. TRADING PLAN

At resistance: Look for bearish rejection and structure confirmation before considering a sell.

At support: Look for a liquidity sweep and bullish confirmation before considering a buy.

At a breakout: Wait for a candle close and retest rather than chasing the move.

Before major news: Consider reducing exposure or waiting until volatility settles.

Risk management: Define invalidation and position size before entering. Avoid overleveraging.

The key principle: Do not trade the prediction. Trade the confirmation.

A technically bearish setup can fail, and a fundamentally bearish backdrop does not guarantee immediate downside. Patience, confirmation, and disciplined risk management remain essential.
