Phase one of BAIA .baia

Plaster troweled by hand and left with its marks. Rounded columns that soften the edge where the house meets the water. Teak doors that fold back until the living room and the terrace read as one space.

The design starts at the surface: how light settles into texture, and how the pattern cut into the stair screen throws a different shadow on every step.

Each material is left to be what it is, and the house is quieter for it.

A dark exterior that stays quiet, with rooms that reward a closer look.

Textured plaster, a pierced screen, and timber slats that soften the light as it moves through the house. Under the pergola, the beams draw their own shadows across the terrace and the pool. Inside, carved timber, woven ceilings, and a lantern that glows low over the living space.

Every surface was chosen for how it feels up close.

One pattern runs through every bathroom at .

A vertical mosaic in black and cream curves around the room, softening every corner. Where the tile meets plaster, a small checkered band marks the change, and the same pattern returns underfoot.

Bronze fixtures, a basin set on carved timber, a door with a stepped relief. These are the things you touch, so each one was chosen for how it feels in the hand.

Then the room opens onto a stone bath among the plants, with the same pattern climbing the curved wall above.

In Bali, culture shapes the rhythm of daily life. It lives in small routines, in the way people gather, and in the care given to each moment along the way.

The bathroom, treated as a room in its own right.

At , each bathroom is composed around a single moment: a stone bowl set between woven walls, carved timber posts framing a soaking tub, a round tub resting on pebbles beside a small courtyard. Checkered tile, carved wood, and woven textures return as a shared language, while the framing and the light change from room to room.

The intention is simple. A place to slow down, designed with the same care as every other room.
