1. Land is limited They are not making more land, while population and demand keep increasing.

2. It appreciates over time Well-located land can increase significantly in value as development expands.

3. It protects wealth Land can help preserve the value of your money against inflation over the long term.

4. You can start small You don't need millions to begin; you can buy a plot, half plot, or other affordable portion depending on the opportunity.

5. Low maintenance cost Unlike buildings, undeveloped land doesn't require constant repairs, renovation, or maintenance.

6. Multiple uses Land can be used for residential buildings, commercial purposes, farming, rental properties, or future development.

7. Strong demand As cities expand and populations grow, demand for strategically located land can increase.

8. It creates generational wealth Land can be passed from one generation to another and become a lasting family asset.

9. You can develop it later You can buy today and develop when your finances and plans are ready.

10. It can generate profit Investors can make money through appreciation, resale, development, leasing, or other legitimate uses.

11. Location can multiply value Infrastructure such as roads, airports, industries, schools, and commercial centres can transform the value of land in an area.

12. Land gives you options You don't have to decide everything today. You can hold it, sell it, develop it, lease it, or use it as part of a larger investment strategy.

The key is not just to buy land it is to buy the right land, in the right location, with proper verification and documentation.

Every investment instrument has its ups and downs bonds, stocks, mutual funds, gold, and others all have their seasons.

But Real Estate remains one of the most enduring investment markets, creating and preserving wealth year after year.

That’s why I call it “The Real Business.”

But here’s the catch: real estate can make you big money or cost you big money if you don’t understand the market.

Don’t just buy property. Understand the market. Invest wisely. Build wealth intentionally.

I met Mrs. Akinkemi at the Lagos Secretariat, Alausa, in 2022 during one of my prospecting activities.

When I introduced myself as a real estate consultant, she surprised me by saying, “I already have several properties in Lagos and Ogun State.”

During our meeting, she shared her story with me.

Mrs. Akinkemi worked for 36 years, and throughout her working life, she made sure she acquired at least two plots of land every year. She also took a loan to build her own house.

She had four children, and while she focused on building assets, her husband focused on raising their children.

She retired in 2021. Sadly, she later lost her husband when their last son was graduating from secondary school.

That was when the value of her investments became even clearer.

The properties she acquired during her working years became a source of financial support for her and her children. Some could generate income, while others could be sold when major needs arose.

Her story taught me one powerful lesson:

Retirement is not the time to start preparing for the future. Retirement is the time to enjoy what you prepared while you were working.

She didn't know what the future would bring. She simply made the decision to turn part of her income into assets.

Your salary may stop one day, but the assets you acquire today can continue working for you tomorrow.

You don't need to start with ten plots.

Start with one. Start building your land bank today.

But remember: don't buy land simply because it is cheap.

Buy from a credible company, verify the documentation, and make sure the property is genuine.

Your future self will thank you for the decisions you make today.
