Few years ago I went to Onitsha to buy materials for a project in Sapele Delta State. Due to the volume of items needed and some machining of some the materials I decided to get a hotel close to the market due to proximity for a few days.
I must commend their services but confusion started when the same room had different prices for different floors. The higher you go the cheaper it becomes.
Who no like better thing. I took the fifth floor which was over 35% cheaper than the 3rd floor down. I told myself that climbing the staircases was part of exercise.
I quickly went to my room, freshened up and came down to meet one of my suppliers who was hosting me in a catfish joint in the adjacent estate. It was fun, in fact I overfilled myself.
Back to the hotel, na dia work start. I was climbing the stairs like a woman in labour . Surprisingly by the time I got into my room my belle don empty.
If not for the cashew nuts I bought earlier, I almost ordered indomie. By the next morning na so I move my things to the first floor and paid the difference.
Unfortunately, a lot of families occupy 6th/7th floor apartments without any provision for lifts, some don't even have water in their apartments. HyperEdge Smart homes can still install affordable lifts in new and existing buildings. We accept payments in instalments (Terms and conditions apply)
Onitsha landlords can do better and My distinguished Governor Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo can come to the rescue of many Onitsha residents who experience this daily torture through a PPP(Public Private Partnership) and also by establishing laws that penalizes offending landlords.
