AREA Group extends our deepest condolences on the passing of Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali.

We are deeply saddened by the news of the passing of Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali, beloved wife of former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, at the age of 100.

A figure of grace, humility and quiet strength, Tun Dr Siti Hasmah served Malaysia with dignity throughout her life, both as a medical doctor and as a respected national figure.

Her compassion, service and devotion to the country will be remembered by generations of Malaysians.

On behalf of the Board, management and staff of AREA Group, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, their family, and all Malaysians mourning this loss.

Data centres are reshaping Malaysia’s industrial-property market—but the question is no longer simply about available land.

They compete for the same fundamental inputs as manufacturers and logistics operators: suitable sites, grid capacity and water. As demand concentrates in established industrial corridors, these resources become the real constraint.

The key question is not just what has been announced, but what can actually be delivered.

𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲𝘆 𝗜𝘀𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗼𝗻𝗴-𝗧𝗲𝗿𝗺 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝘁-𝗜𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗢𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆

Carey Island should not be treated as spare land waiting to be filled.

Its value lies in what it can become: a long-term port-industrial platform linked to the emerging manufacturing, logistics and infrastructure corridor across Kuala Langat, Sepang and Negeri Sembilan.

In a recent EdgeProp commentary, AREA Group’s Alistair LaBrooy examines the significance of Kuala Langat Local Plan 2030 Draft Amendment 3 and the wider IDRISS programme.

The draft amendment affects 17.46% of Kuala Langat, with Carey Island forming the strategic centrepiece. Yet zoning alone does not create an economic corridor.

The key question is whether credible anchors, port works, power and water infrastructure, roads, rail, fibre and supporting services can be delivered in the right sequence.

Through AREA Group’s presence in Kuala Langat and AMI’s market-intelligence work, we see the mainland industrial belt and Carey Island as connected but distinct propositions. The mainland is where industrial momentum is already visible. Carey Island is the longer-term port-side extension of that story.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗣𝗔𝗦𝗦 @ 𝗞𝗼𝘁𝗮 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗶 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱.

With more than 80% of the main infrastructure works completed, the internal road network and wider site infrastructure are visibly taking shape. The project remains on course for completion before year-end.

For industrial occupiers, this is what matters: a development that is not simply planned, but delivered with the infrastructure needed to support operations from day one.

COMPASS is being developed as a managed industrial park in a strategically connected location, with access to the key logistics and industrial corridors serving West Port, North Port, KLIA and the wider Klang Valley.
