🚧 New Sejingkat Bridge OPEN — Now We Watch Route B!
Today, 5 October 2026, the New Sejingkat Bridge officially opens to traffic. 🎉
But if you look at the bigger road network, there is still one very important missing link to complete — Route B, connecting the Tanjong Bako side towards the New Samarahan Bridge.
Based on the current project information:
🔵 New Sejingkat Bridge — ✅ OPEN
🔴 Route B / Package D3C — 🚧 Under Construction
🌉 New Samarahan Bridge — 🚧 Under Construction
Route B is approximately 7 km and the current revised target is around July 2027. The government has also previously called for the project to be accelerated due to delays.
For the New Samarahan Bridge, based on the current construction progress and project timeline, SIO would estimate it to be completed around 2027, subject to actual site progress and any revised JKR schedule.
The interesting part comes when both Route B + New Samarahan Bridge are completed.
Then we could have a much more direct alternative connection:
Sejingkat → New Sejingkat Bridge → Tanjong Bako → Route B → New Samarahan Bridge → Kota Samarahan 🔥
Today we celebrate one bridge opening.

If everything progresses according to schedule, 2027 could be the year this whole new connectivity starts coming together.
