“Government incentives should not only help make projects viable but also ensure that they deliver lasting benefits” he said. “This can be from reviving underutilised buildings and urban areas to keeping housing genuinely affordable for the end user and reducing unnecessary costs (such as taxes) embedded in the development process.”

JLL congratulates KIP REIT on the successful acquisition of Setapak Central Mall, now renamed KIPMall Setapak. This marks the 20th property in their portfolio, bringing AUM to RM 2.2 billion and surpassing their 2027 target of RM 2 billion ahead of schedule.

We are honoured to witness the handover of Setapak Central Mall as our Chief Growth Officer, Christophe Vicic and Senior Director of Capital Markets, Janice Chin attend this significant milestone ceremony.

In part two of the topic of adaptive reuse in The Star, Jamie Tan, Managing Director of JLL Malaysia explores the options available to the owner of an ageing building: reposition, conversion, redevelop or do nothing.

Each option comes with its own challenges and peculiarities. “The test should be whether the existing building can be repositioned into a use that the market values, while making better use of the underlying site and capital than the alternative approaches”, he said.

Our Chief Growth Officer, Christophe Vicic, led an engaging discussion on how is transforming labour dynamics, workforce patterns, and the real estate industry.
